Updated 7/2/09
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Tank is an approximately 3 year old boxer boy. He is up to date on all vaccines and heartworm preventative and was neutered on 6/22 (he still has his stitches so he needs a little extra care for the next week).
Tank loves everyone and has not shown any aggression with any dog he has met. He has however shown a little too much interest in the kitties.
If you would like to make this great boy a part of your family please fill out our online adoption form and a volunteer will get back to you right away.

ADOPTED!!!
HANNAH
Hannah was rescued a few days ago from underneath a parked car. She had a horrible wound on her front right leg. The angels who found Hannah brought her right to a vet, and they have been taking wonderful care of her. Here is what her rescuer says of her:
She was in horrible shape when I found her and I truly thought she wouldn't survive. But she's done incredibly well thanks to the wonderful people at the Clydey Foundation (http://theclydeyfoundation.org/) and Knowles Animal Hospital. Now I need to help find her a foster home ASAP (and a permanent home long term).
Her temperament is very sweet, quiet and gentle. She has been on the streets for quite awhile, but was someone's pet at some point because she's not scared of people. I pet her everywhere and picked her up without any issues what so ever.
She will need some attention while her leg heels (placing antibiotics in her food and a visit or two to the vet). The foster home will NOT have to pay for her medical needs.
I spent nearly an hour with her yesterday. She's very sweet. But she's not used to attention. Boxers love being loved, so I am sure she will open up to anyone that spends a little time with her. She doesn't seem fazed by other animals so my guess is she would get along with any other animals one may have already.
If you would like to help Hannah by giving her either a temporary home to recover in or a permanent home, please complete our online adoption application and a volunteer will contact you soon.

BIG BOY
Big Boy is a neutered male who was recently found by a Good Samaritan. He is a nice Boxer, and will need a home this week as the family who found him can only keep him another few days.

ZEUS
Zeus is a young male who is looking for a new home. He is still with his owner, but he does need a new place to call home ASAP. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and is wonderful with children.
He is not in our rescue program, but rather a courtesy listing for Get A Life pet rescue.

SARAH / SUGAR
Sarah was picked up by Animal Care with a gash in her right rear leg. She is a young Boxer (most likely under 2 years old), has been vetted, is up todate on her vaccinations and is safe in a foster home where all indications are that she is a lovely Boxer girl.

Due to a lack of foster homes, Boxer Friends has very few Boxers available. However, please check your local shelter. You can check online using Petharbor; enter your local zip code and search for "Found" and "Adoptable" Dogs. You can also check Petfinder.
Please note that we are NOT a source for puppies! The majority of our dogs come from local shelters, therefore we may not know anything about their prior life. All temperament descriptions come from our observations of interactions with people and other dogs, and are true to the best of our knowledge.
If we don't have very many Boxers, it's because we don't have very many foster homes! The number of Boxers we can help is directly related to the number of foster homes available. Please visit our Foster Care Information page to learn more and help us help the Boxers! If you apply for one of our dogs, there is a "comments" area where you can indicate your interest in fostering.
Effective May 05, 2007, we put in place the following Adoption fees. This rate structure helps us cover the increase in costs that we are incurring, primarily in our vet fees. Even at these increased rates we depend on contributions to help us meet our costs. Thanks for your understanding and continued support of the Boxer Rescue Program here in south Florida.
